Our Guest Designer, Mariejosée Gagnon, has chosen today’s Theme of Flowers or Spring.
When I saw the theme for this month I knew EXACTLY what I was going to feature on my page. The only problem was I had no photos of it. What is it? Bluebells! These for me are a sign that Spring really has arrived in the UK. I try to visit a Bluebell wood every year, but last year we missed out because a member of the family passed away – in fact tomorrow is the anniversary. It made me more determined to find a wood this year. Happily the weather was kind too, as we have had an amazing Easter Weekend. About 50 photos later…
So, wanted to have some real contrast in the papers I used, but nothing too ‘solid’. I pulled the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Papers and found just what I needed – take a look at the video for why I chose the papers I did. I added a sheet of the Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut paper, but sprayed it first with a mix of Champagne Shimmer Paint, Crumb Cake Ink Refill and 70% rubbing alcohol. This cut through the really white side of the paper and gave me the mottled finish I was looking for. Adhering this to the background was ‘fun’, but worth it.
Lots of die cuts in Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz and vellum meant I could build up a swag of foliage between my photo and journaling. I hid some of the matte sequins from the Basic Sequins pack around the background and in the foliage. Why ‘hid’ because they are there, but not obvious, which is just what I was looking for.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to a sunny spring in the UK, now why not hop over to Australia and visit Courtenay Heuston. It will be worth it!

Where I live there is just weeds that flower.. There is a saying in Australia maybe it is other countries too
If it flourishes it is a weed…one that comes to mind is Lantana check it out..It's so pretty BUT it is a weed.
Thank you once again for joining us Liz.
