Not Postman Pat’s But Still a Black and White Cat. Today is another Inspire.Create.Challenge day, and we have a Colour Challenge for you. And the colour challenge is……Well, here’s the thing, do Black and White count as colours? If you do a Google search you will find that, technically, they are not. But, Black and White is today’s challenge. This is my project.
As last week’s project featured a dog, I felt it was only fair if this week featured a cat. I chose the ‘blotchy’ cat as we have a cat with very similar markings, so it seemed right. In the video I share a few tips and tricks for making sure your images and the punch line up properly, so if for no other reason, you may want to take a look at that.
Having decided to use a Whisper White Card Base, so then took a look at all the Basic Black embellishments and ribbons I have to add to the card. I embossed the Black Mat using the Subtle Embossing Folder. Not wanting to overload the White Mat, I added some gentle texture with one of the Artisan Textures stamps. I love these stamps as they add just a little ‘something’ to break up a plain background.
I decided that ribbon would be too much with such a small image, so pulled the mini sequin trim instead. A quick zigzag across the page was just the look I was after. But I did want to add something else, not much, just something. Then I remembered the that I have a pot of Metallic Sequins and that this includes black. Perfect. A few drops of Multi Purpose Liquid Adhesive and with the aid of my Take Your Pick tool, the sequins were in place.
