March Thank You Cards – Beach Happy. One of my favourite ‘tasks’ each month is to design and make the Thank You card that I send to everyone who shops with me. This month the reward was the Beach Happy stamp set, so I thought I would make the card using that set.

This is a Two-step stamp set, so as I had lots to make, it was also a perfect project to pull my Stamparatus out for. I started by lining up the outline images and stamping them on my mini grid paper. Then I lined up the Sentiment, Umbrella and Deckchair images on one plate and the palm fronds on another, so they would be perfectly placed. Because I wanted to gold heat emboss the outline images, I stamped the block colours first. I used Pacific Point for the Sentiment, Umbrella and Deckchair seat, and Lemon Lime Twist for the Palm Fronds (while we still have that popping colour!)

It is important to make sure that your block ink colours are really dry before adding the outline in Versamark, so gently heat with the first setting of you Heat Tool. When you are ready to stamp, apply a generous amount of Embossing Buddy so you are 100% sure there will be no stray powder. Sprinkle the powder over the image, tap and heat. I could watch embossing powder melt all day!

So this fun card came together really quickly, even in bulk. Don’t you love how ‘laid back’ that picture is! The only thing to remember is to apply the embossing powder as soon as you have stamped in Versamark. If you leave the ink to dry too long, you will not be able to get the powder to stick. Once the powder is on, you can leave the actual heating for a little while, just make sure you don’t knock any powder off before you do!!
