Animal Outing Enormous Gift Box and Tips. I am beginning to start my farewell to some of the products that are not making the cut to the new Annual Catalogue. Some were expected, some were not.
On the ‘expected’ list were all of the 2017-2019 InColors, so today I am using Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst 12 x 12″ Cardstock and the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper. The Animal Outing Stamps and matching Dies are carrying over, but if you want to save 10%, you are best to get them before the new catalogue launches on 4th June. Bundle prices never carry over, even if the individual items do.
The boxes use 2 sheets of 12 x 12″ card, but, and here’s one of my top tips for snug fitting boxes without hassle, cut 1/16″ off two sides (bringing the card down to 11-15/16″ x 11-15/16″). Trimming that little slither off means that you don’t have to worry about buffers or shims on your score board, just score and turn, simple! The smaller piece will be the base of the box.
I picked out patterns from the Designer Series Papers that featured large amounts of each of the InColors I used so that they sat well together. Adding the paper before you construct the lid of the box, it really is easier to stick to a flat surface rather than a constructed lid.
The tags are made from 2″ wide Thick Whisper White Card, punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. I always keep some prepared tags on hand as they are great for quickly finishing off for an unexpected gift. I stamped the rhino on smooth Whisper White before being die cut and coloured with blends. Adding this to the tag with dimensionals for some added ‘pop’.
The finished dimensions are 6 x 6 x 3″, so a really good size box that will hold lots.
