Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop – Floyen Mixed Media. If you are following the Hop, you will have joined me from Libby Dyson in Australia. Today our Guest Designer is the amazing Nature Gibner. I am honoured to be on the Inspire.Create. Challenge Design Team with her, she always produces the most amazing Scrapbook pages, so we are in for a treat. Nature has challenged us to produce a Mixed Media page.
Now I have to make a confession here, I am very comfortable with the idea of scrapbook pages, although I don’t make as many as I would like. I am very comfortable with the idea of Mixed Media. For some reason I am not at all comfortable with a Mixed Media Scrapbook Page. I had planned to have more time to prepare for this hop, but life got on top of me, so I spent most of the time between signing up for the hop and now in Norway. Not quite what I planned. But, the plus of a couple of weeks in Norway meant that I had the chance to take some photos, particularly on one beautiful sunny afternoon. It is one of these photos that I am featuring today.
As the photo was taken in snow and ice I wanted the page to reflect the sparkle and shine. I started with Basic Grey card and spread some Shimmery White and Silver Embossing Paste across the centre of the page using one of the Palette Knives. Once it was dry I added a piece of Window Sheet that I had run through the Big Shot and Corrugated Embossing Folder. The combination of the two added some shine and some of the linear feel I wanted. But I wanted more.
I cut some very narrow pieces of Sparkle and Silver Glimmer Card, some Silver Foil and some Galvanised Card. I added these towards the bottom and right of the photo in a random order. To reflect the amazing blue of the sky, I hand stamped and heat embossed ‘Floyen’ using Blueberry Bushel Embossing Powder. This added just enough blue. The final touch was to add some Basic Sequins across the whole page.
I should add some journaling to record the background to the photo, probably in the bottom right hand corner, but for now I am happy with the page as it is.
Thank you Nature for challenging us to produce a Mixed Media Scrapbook Page. I hope you have enjoyed what we all came up with.
