My First OSAT Blog Hop By The Bay

My First OSAT Blog Hop By The Bay. If you have just hopped over from Jackie in Western Australia, welcome to a chilly United Kingdom. I am so excited to have been invited to be part of this fantastic Team. Our theme today is ‘Sale-a-Brate Every Occasion’. I was not totally sure what to make of the theme, but have gone for the fairly obvious choice of an any Occasion Project using something from the Sale-a-Bration Catalogue.

How can you not love the By the Bay stamp set in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure? It brought back very fond memories of family holidays in North Cornwall. I knew the moment I saw it at OnStage in November that this was going to have to be one of the first Sale-a-Bration items I chose. I love the main scene, so this is what I have chosen as my card. But, it is a tiny card! It is only 3 x 4″ (7.5 x 10 cm) but I love it! It was so easy to make. I just stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black a couple of times, using my Stamparatus, and then coloured it in. The colouring is so easy, it is just sketching with Stampin’ Blends. Not real colouring at all! I repeated the same process for the tag on the Tiny Treat Box.

Did you spot that I sneaked a second Sale-a-bration item into my project by using the Balmy Blue Ribbon from the Organdy Ribbon Combo? I could have used the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper to line the box. This would certainly have worked and would have included new product from the Spring/Summer Catalogue, but it just didn’t look right with the stamps. Instead I chose one of the papers from the Tranquil Textures pack, that worked much better.

Anyway, enough from me. I urge you to take a look at the projects that the others have made. As I write this I have not had a chance to look at them yet, but knowing their work, they are going to be fantastic! The list of links is below, so if you are following along, you should hop over to Mary in the USA

Always sure to please Liz, you did not disappoint. I missed this stamp set the first few times through the catalogue. When I saw the seagulls used, I added it to my wish list. Once I saw your post, I added it to my next order. I love what you did with it here. Also, my family is from Cornwall so it’s a piece of home. xoxo
