Classic Garage – Not Only For Men. I know we sometimes struggle for ideas for cards for the men in our lives, but I see no reason why we shouldn’t make cards for women with Classic Garage.

Soon after I left school I went to evening classes on car maintenance. I had an old car and drove it to college every day, so it made sense to have some idea about how to fix it. This was back when lots of people tinkered with their cars, before the days of ‘only worry about the bits of the engine painted yellow. Otherwise known as the dip stick and windscreen washer bottle. I was actually quite good at car maintenance and stripped an engine down more than once. I think my time at the evening classes was when I developed my interest in cars generally. From then on I have loved my cars, most of which have been anything other than a ‘standard’ car. So I come back to why shouldn’t we make cards for women with Classic Garage?

I chose one of the Basic Grey/Black backgrounds and then die cut the cogs from the Grapefruit Grove Foil from the Sale-a-Bration brochure. It looks fantastic and it’s FREE! The car is from another sheet of the paper. Super easy to cut – with a die. I stamped the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick ink, which I also used on the splodges inside the card. The badge is cut from the Black Foil, carried over from the Autumn/Winter Catalogue. Layering up was easy enough, although I highly recommend using the mini dimensionals. Everything was mounted onto a Grapefruit Grove card, which helped bring the project together. I hope I have convinced you that Classic Garage is not just for men!
