Welcome to Simple Stamping Saturday! This is the first in a series of posts that I will be doing on Saturdays to show that you don’t need lots of supplies to make really pretty card projects. From the very first, Stampin’ Up! was all about Stamps, Ink and Paper as being all that is needed to make amazing projects. I love this and want to share some projects with you that prove this short list of supplies really is all you need. But, I also want to show you how to take that simple project and step it up. I know that many, probably most, of my projects are quite involved, which is great for an Avid Crafter, but less so if you are new to crafting, or only have a few supplies and little time. In this series I hope to show you how to pare back to the basics, but also how to take small steps to more involved projects.

My first Simple Stamping Saturday project is based around a card I have made for to mark my Father’s Birthday, which is today. It is a very clean and simple card, even in the Avid version, but sometimes less really is more. I hope you agree. So let’s start with the Simple Stamping version. This uses one of our Notecards and Envelopes, one stamp set and one ink pad. I have used 2 blocks, but you really only need 1 (I would suggest a D block if you only want 1 to begin with). Simply ink up the corkscrew stamp in Soft Suede Classic Ink and stamp it towards the top of the Notecard. Then add the row of corks at the bottom of the card, you should be able to stamp this image twice across the bottom of the Notecard.
The Casual version is on a standard A6 Cardbase, made from half a sheet of A4 Very Vanilla Cardstock that is then folded in half. I have added a mat of Merry Merlot, stamped the corkscrew in Soft Suede again. This time I stamped on a small piece of Very Vanilla card, which I then mounted on a small piece of Soft Suede card and popped up on Dimensionals. I have replaced the corks with a piece of ribbon. If you look at the design it is very similar to the original Simple Stamping version.
The Avid version is almost identical to the Casual version, but replaces the stamping with heat embossing in Copper. The Soft Suede card is replaced with Copper Foil, everything else is the same as for the Casual version. I love that you can take a simple design and change just a little to make such a difference. It makes it easy to see how you can progress with your crafting too, or at least I hope it does!

Very nice, Liz. I have steered away from ribbons on my cards for men but you made it work here. You’ve just done a great job. Always enjoy your videos. Thank you.
Hi Meg. Thank you so much, this is so kind. Lx
