Simple Stamping Saturday – Part 3. Did you catch the first 2 parts of my Simple Stamping series? If not, you may want to take a look at it ‘Welcome to Simple Stamping Saturday!’. If you did, then you will know that the idea behind this series is to show new paper crafters that they can make fantastic projects with just a few supplies. I also want to show how to take that project and ‘step it up’ a little by adding more products or techniques, or both. My hope is that this will show that you can grow your paper craft stash over the months, and not end up with items you will not use again.
- New Crafter Project
- Casual Crafter Project
- Avid Crafter Project
Today’s card uses Bloom by Bloom Stamp Set from the Happiness Blooms Suite. This is inspired by Swedish design and has bold colours and images. It is perfect for statement stamping and, I think is a great set for a new stamper, or someone looking for quick projects that pack a punch. The #simplestamping card uses just two colours if ink, but embraces the fact that Stampin’ Up! ink has so much dye in it that you can get more than one shade, just by stamping off first. Add a third colour, some Stampin’ Write Markers and some enamel dots and you have the more Casual crafting version.
With the addition of coloured card, patterned paper, ribbon and some fussy cutting and you take it up another step to our more Avid crafting version. The Casual and Avid versions are still not difficult, they just take a little longer and have a few more techniques. Stupidly I forgot to take a still of the Avid Crafter Version, but you can see it in the video, and I may remember to add it here later (now added!).
I mentioned last week the old saying ‘Buy Cheap, Buy Twice’. I always urge new crafters that it is better to buy a few quality products that you now will make quality projects. If you buy inferior quality you will get inferior results, and the worst thing may be that you think the problem is you, not the products. Please, don’t run the risk. Sale-a-Bration, which launches on 3rd January, is a great time to buy a few products and get some FREE items. More high quality for your money! I am listing the items which are currently available for the 3 versions, so please don’t stress about the length of the list!!
