Stampin’ Write Markers from Stampin’ Up! – How To. Did you know you can use Stampin’ Write Markers to ink stamps as well as colour in the images? Did you know that the ink in a Stampin’ Write Marker is the same ink that is used on the Classic Ink Pads? Did you know that you can refill your Stampin’ Write Markers? Did you know there are two ends to these so you can use them for different jobs?Lots of questions to start this post.
I am guessing that you have worked out that you can do all of these things. Let’s look at them in order. Inking your stamps with Stampin’ Write Markers is a great way to get multi-coloured images. There are a couple of things you need to remember when using your Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up your stamps. First, use the brush tip end BUT do not use the point of the brush tip. The tip is delicate, so you should use the side of the tip, and be gentle. This works best on red rubber stamps, but it can work on photopolymer, especially if they are linear, rather than a solid image. Once you have added all your colours to the stamp, breath on the stamp hard to reinvigorate it. If you don’t do this, your image may not stamp well.
Because the ink in your Stampin’ Write Markers is the same as the ink in your ink pads, it is another great reason to buy the ink refill. The easiest way to add more ink to the marker is to GENTLY with flat tipped pliers, pull the brush end out. Add a few drops of ink to the barrel of the marker and reinsert the nib. Leave the pen horizontal so the ink can spread to both tips. And this is a good point. You should always store your markers horizontal, otherwise the ink will pool at one end. And that of course brings us to the two ends. The brush end is for large areas and inking up your stamps. The other end is for writing, hence the name, Stampin’ Write Marker!
