Stazon Ink from Stampin’ Up! – How To. I am sure you have already seen the information I have shared about using Classic Ink Pads and Memento. If not, you can find them by searching my website. There is lots of useful information for you to see, so worth a look. Today I am doing a similar post on Stazon Ink. This is an amazing ink if you want to do water-colouring, or any technique that involves lots of water. It is alcohol based, so great for all water based crafting. That said, it is NOT if you want to use Stampin’ Blends, or any other alcohol based markers. But for water-colouring, Stazon is ideal.
To be perfectly honest with you, I have a love/hate relationship with it. Why? Well, it is fantastic, but it is not easy to clean up, as you need a special cleaner. Also, both the ink and the cleaner are quite harsh, so are fine on red rubber stamps, but not great to use with photopolymer. Personally, I would never use Stazon with photopolymer. That is my personal choice and I know others do.
The love ibt of Stazon for me is that it is not only great for water-colouring, but is also the best ink for using on a slick surface. Be that Window Sheet or Foil Card, it is fantastic as it takes very little time to dry. Remember that stamping on a slick surface needs a gentle hand as you can slide across it! If that does happen, a bit of the special Stazon Stamp Cleaner on a piece of kitchen paper will wipe it away. Try stamping on Window Sheet and then colouring from behind with your Stampin’ Blends. You will get some really pretty Stained Glass effects.
Because Stazon is a solvent based ink, you must keep the lid on when you are not using the pad. Remember to keep the inner liner too as this will help keep the pad from drying out too. Remember, like all of the inks Stampin’ Up supply, there is a refill for Stazon, so you will be able to add more ink if you forget!
I hope you have found this helpful and that the post and video have both helped answer some questions you may have had.
