Oh So Eclectic Colour Challenge. It is time for another Inspire Create Challenge and it is a fantastic colour challenge! Hannah has set us a really interesting colour range, to be honest, one that challenged me. It really was not one that I could ‘feel’ for a while, but then everything fell into place.
The key for me was remembering that you don’t have to use every colour at full strength all the time. Suddenly I knew EXACTLY what I needed to do to get inspired. Second generation stamping is a great technique to master, and it is just so easy. Simply ink your stamp up, stamp it on a scrap of paper, and then on your project. Soft, subtle colours suddenly appear. It is a great way of getting more colours from your ink pads. Every colour has at least one softer version waiting to be found, some have a third even softer version.
I was really happy with the final project. Not nearly as ‘in your face’ as I was expecting. The Sahara Sand works as a great neutral foil against the more definite colours. All in all, a great choice Hannah. Now it is your turn. To take part in the challenge, just click on the picture below to go to the Challenge page and see all the totally amazing projects my fellow Design Team Members have come up with. Well worth a visit.
Well that is pretty much it for me for today As I write this I am trying to get ready for what is probably the last weekend I can do any major tidying in the garden. The weather is definitely becoming Autumnal; we had our first frost this morning, and as I am writing this in September, that is a bit early. We do live in a ‘frost pocket’ but even so. Jumper and gardening gloves on now and off to deadhead the roses and mow the lawn.
