Wreath Template Technique Time – Part 1

Wreath Template Technique Time – Part 1. I have been having a bit of a play and have got to share this with you all. This is so simple and is genius.

Wreath Builder Template

Have you seen those wonderful wreath cards that have been doing the rounds? You know the ones. Take a few small stamps and build a wreath from them. Have you ever wondered how to do that? Now is your chance.

Make The Template

To be honest, you can buy a pair of templates for this technique. I can only see one supplier in the UK, they come with a stamp set I don’t want and cost about £30! Never mind they are Out of stock. My template is for a 3-1/2″ square piece of card and will cost you a piece of grid paper and a piece of A4 card!

Wreath Builder Template

First, in the very middle of a piece of Grid Paper you want to draw a 3-1/2″ square. Now measure 2-1/2″ from the mid point in that square along each of the bold lines and make a mark on your grid paper. Now just join those marks up to make a diamond shape. The sides of that diamond will measure 3-1/2″. I love when the maths works, but do be a accurate as you can with this.

Now you want to take your grid paper and, with your square and diamond in the middle, cut the paper down to 7″ square. Cut a piece of Thick Whisper White card to 7″ and, using washi tape, stick the grid paper to this. Take your trimmer and carefully cut out the square (line the left edge against the 5-1/4″ mark). Finally cut out the remaining corners of the diamond. Remove the washi tape and you have your template.

So what? I hear you say. Now what do I do?

Come back tomorrow to find out.
