Stunning Silhouette Botanical Tag

Stunning Silhouette Botanical Tag. How long have I been waiting to start using the Botanical Tag Dies ? Too long, they are amazing and so cute. I have had this project bubbling around my brain for a few weeks now, but finally it has got onto card form.

Botanical Bliss Gift Tag

The bird silhouette botanical tag reminds me of an old film for some reason. Don’t ask me which one because I have no idea, but there is something in the back of my mind that is calling me.

Because I have used the botanical tag as an actual tag, rather than as a loose overlay, I had to work out how to shape the top of the water-colour paper and the Very Vanilla backing piece. Well, guess what, it is really easy! Cut a 2″ strip and feed it into the 2″ circle punch, pulling the end out so only one edge is in the punch. Keep the strip straight, punch and you have exactly the right shape – watch the video, it is much easier to show than explain.

I have more botanical tag projects coming, so if you are even slightly tempted by this set, keep watching.

This is so pretty! Thank you for sharing your video. I have a question! Is it necessary to do the watercolor on a piece that goes between the two layers or could you watercolor the back layer and eliminate the middle piece?

Hi Juleen. You could just use Watercolour paper for the whole of the back of the tag – but I didn’t for 2 reasons. Firstly I don’t like writing on watercolour paper, and secondly it is more expensive than Very Vanilla. But you could! Lx
