Frosted Floral Box for Shimmer Paints – A Match Made in Heaven! I seem to be on a bit of a roll with storage solutions for my wonderful new Stampin’ Up! products. After making the box to store my Take A Pick Tool, I thought I needed something to keep all my Shimmer Paints in too. The obvious answer is a box, and as the paints shimmer, using the Frosted Florals seemed and obvious choice!
Now, I meant this to go ‘live’ on Saturday, but I was running out of time getting the post sorted out because there are a LOT of measurements. Having had the hiatus of buying a new camera when my old one finally gave up last week, I am now running behind a bit, so the prospect of writing a post with a long list of measurements, whilst also keeping my work/life balance, just blew my mind. That said, although the list of measurements is long, trust me when I tell you that I checked them numerous times and tweaked them until I was happy the are perfect. This is a project that is definitely worth having a go at if you want to store your Shimmer Paints in one place so you can always find them.
I am going to be very immodest here when I say I am really pleased with how this box turned out. The outside is really pretty, and I love stamping with the Shimmer Paints, but the inside!!! I know how many times I had to adjust the measurements and working in 1/16th of an inch, that is not easy. So, give it a go and benefit from the work I put into it and you will not be disappointed. If you have a crafty friend who would like these paints, this is a great package for gifting them in. And with the stamping on the outside done using the paints, it is a great example of how versatile they are.

OK, are you ready for these? Trust me, they do work and if you follow them exactly, your box will be perfect! If you have never worked in 1/16″ before, they are the really tiny measurements on the Imperial Ruler on your Trimmer.
BOX LID – 8-3/4 x 4-7/8″ – score each side at 1-3/4″
BOX BASE – There are two ways to look at this, either cut a second piece the same size as the lid and then trim 1/16″ off one short and one long edge OR just cut the piece at 8-11/16 x 4-13/16″ – score each side at 1-3/4″. By trimming the 1/16″ off the base you will find that the lid will fit snuggly.
DIVIDER – 1-5/16 x 11-3/16″ – score at 1-1/4, 2-1/4, 3-1/4, 4-9/16, 5-9/16, 6-9/16, 7-7/8, 8-7/8 and 9-7/8″
