Twinkle Twinkle a Child is Born. The ‘jungle drums’ in the village tell me that there is a new arrival, a very small new arrival in the shape of a daughter to a member of our Parochial Church Council. If there were ever an event to celebrate, this has to be one. Into my Craft room I went and a card was made.
Now at the time of making the card, I did not know if we were celebrating the birth of a boy or a girl, so I went for the safe colour option of Soft Sea Foam. I love this colour, and as it is included in the, oh so pretty, Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper and matching Cardstock, it was easy to make a card that would be perfect for either. As one of the samples in the catalogue is a shaker card, I thought I would CASE the idea.
The Shaker Elements were stars punched from the 3 main colours in the paper and some Silver Foil. I added a few of the iridescent Sequins for some extra ‘bling’ and also decided that the window needed a frame, so added a VERY narrow silver foil frame. A few little scraps of Designer Series Paper and a small stamped element in Soft Sea Foam and the outside of the card was done. I added a few stars to the inside and the envelope, again in Soft Sea Foam, just as a finishing touch.
I love that I have the supplies on hand to make these quick cards, but to be honest the key to this was the Twinkle Twinkle paper. Most of the rest of the cards was made up of a few scraps that I had lying around. Add a couple of punches and any appropriate stamp set and it would work just as well I am sure. That said, I do love the Little Twinkle Stamp set; so many of the stamps are great for adults and children alike.
