Serene Garden Catalogue Case Card. If you take a look in the Catalogue you will see a really pretty green card just by this stamp set. That is the card I am CASing today. I have taken it up a level by using Foil Card as the top mat.
There are a couple of tricks to get a really good result with this card, particularly if you follow my lead and use Foil Card. The stamps and dies are really cleaver. They line up perfectly and you can use the large corner stamp, the scattered leaves dies and the embossed corner together to get the look that I have here. If you do everything in the right order you will get perfect results every time. The Stamparatus will help, but is not essential.
The key to using the Foil Card as a mat that has been either embossed or die cut is to make sure that you use new cutting plates. Ideally, add a shim of plain paper, just to project your foil even more. If you use old cutting plates that have cut marks in them, you will end up transferring those cut marks onto the foil. Now this is a ‘look’, but not the one we are looking for here. I cut the leaves into the foil and Very Vanilla Mat by lining them up and passing them through the BigShot at the same time. You could ‘gut’ you Very Vanilla mat, leaving about 1/2″ (1cm) frame if you would rather.
The final card is very much a tone-on-tone, using shades of Petal Pink, with just a hint of Very Vanilla to give the card a lift. I added a few Artisan Pearls for even more opulence and the card was done. And how pretty is that!
