Artistically Asian Shadow Cards

Artistically Asian Shadow Cards. I am a great fan of silhouette stamps, they can be so striking on the right project. I think this is one of those projects! One colour, an easy mask, easy stamping and some simple heat embossing. Add a few sequins and some ribbon and it is done.

Artistically Asian Poppy Parade Card

I made the mask just by using a quarter sheet of card and cutting a frame from it. I added this to the front of a piece of Whisper White card and attached it on the back with some washi tape. There are a few ways to add the colour, but I choose to use a sponge dauber; you could use a Stampin’ Sponge or a Sponge Brayer, but the key is to apply more ink to the left of the card than the right.

Artistically Asian Mossy Meadow Card

I stamped the bamboo image using the Stamparatus. Because I wanted to build up layers of the bamboo image from the Artistically Asian set, rather than moving the stamp, I moved the card. Once I was happy with the colour stamping, I cleaned the stamp and moved it up slightly, before using my Embossing Buddy and some Versa Mark Ink. Again, I moved the card so I stamped in a couple of places. Once you add your embossing powder and heat emboss it, you are almost done. Add your sentiment, some ribbon (in my case to cover up a boo boo) and a few sequins. Done! Oh, unless you want to stamp on the outside of your envelope too!

This is another of those projects that can change completely just by changing the colour. I like both cards, and I think I will be drawn to each depending on the mood I am in and who the card is for.
