Inspire Create Challenge #021 – Kids Theme. You should know by now that I love making projects for this Design Team, or indeed any Design Team!! I also like a wide theme, so when we were told the theme for this Challenge was ‘Kids’ I was very happy.
Now, I don’t have children, and have never wanted them. I jokingly say ‘I love children, but couldn’t eat a whole one’, or is it a joke? But seriously, I actually do enjoy making Kids Theme cards, and one of my favourite stamps sets from last year was a Children’s set. One of my all time favourite sets, and one of the very first I bought, is Foxy Friends. I don’t know what it is about this set that I like, but it makes me smile. When I was thinking about what to make this time around, it seemed obvious that this would be the set to use.
I am really happy with how the card turned out, particularly as it also allowed me to cover a few techniques along the way. Firstly, I used a couple of masks to build up the layers and give the cards some dimension. I also used the Stamparatus with a template made from the Fox Builder Punch, which means I could have made any number of these cards really quickly and easily.
I wanted to add a sentiment to the card, but the Foxy Friends set has none included, so I pulled out the new Itty Bitty Greetings set. This has so many greetings to choose from, so is a great set to have on hand, but you could use any greeting you already have. I added some tone on tone stamping for the mat, and then added some matching Ombre Ribbon to finish the card off. I am really pleased with the final result and would love you to give this a go.
Remember to take a look at all the other projects that the Design Team members have come up with. I have not seen them yet, but I am sure they will be fantastic and will give you lots of inspiration so you can come up with your interpretation for this challenge.
