Bokeh Dots and Pressed Flowers – a Match Made in Heaven. For many years I tried to perfect Bokeh effects in my photographs, and still struggle unless I use a clever filter. When I saw the new Bokeh Dots stamp set in the Annual Catalogue, it seemed to have been made just for me! I grabbed another new favourite, the Pressed Flowers Host Set and put this quick and easy card together. One card, two colourways.
The Bokeh Dots Stamp Set is one of the new Distinktive Stamps from Stampin’ Up! and there are a few tips and tricks to getting a good impression everytime. Take a look at the video for fuller details of these, but the main things to remember are to use an ink pad that is not too juicy. If there is too much ink on the stamp it will tend to fill in the pattern. It is also important to use the middle of the ink pad, if you use the edges you may get lines on the stamped image. All of this said, the final result is stunning, and so easy to achieve.
Having stamped the background, I added one of the Pressed Flower images in Whisper White Heat Embossing. I used the burlap stamp from the Pressed Flowers set to add some texture to the background mat. The feature piece was trimmed down so only the Bokeh image remained. I then cut mats in two colours, just very slightly larger, to mount the feature piece and added some twine. The whoe piece was mounted with Stampin’ Dimensionals towards the top of the card. The finishing touch was to add just 3 sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment, and some simple stamping on the inside.
Two simple, clean and easy cards in just a few minutes. Perfect for any occasion. Now to try the other background in the Bokeh Stamp Set. Come back in a few days, so see what I come up with.
