Colour Revamp New Ink Pad Set-up. I have had a few people ask me to go through setting up the new style ink pad, so here goes.
First a bit of background. The ink pad redesign came about, in part, because the moulds for the previous style were coming to the end of their usable life. The choice was to pay for new moulds in the original style, or use this as an opportunity to improve the design. Stampin’ Up! are always keen to improve and innovate, so went for the latter option. We tend to have a colour refresh every few years, but this one has been held until the 30th Anniversary. As it is larger than usual, it is being called a revamp, and it hits so many of the current trending colours, it is fantastic.
The new style pad is easier to open, being similar to opening a makeup compact, but still slides to form a neat and self contained unit. The two pieces are a tighter fit, but will ease off a little with use.
Setting the new pad up is similar to how you would set up the old pad, but now, in addition to stickers in English, French, German and Japanese, Stampin’ Up! includes a blank colour strip specifically to add to the inside of the ink pad. Knowing the colour of the ink even when the pad is open is such a help.
Remember that once you have applied all of the stickers, you need to remove the remainder of the colour stickers and the backing piece to ensure that the pads will sit neatly together when stacked.
