Just how dirty is your Stampin’ Scrub? – #134

I love my Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist, but I do find that there comes a time when the scrub is so full of ink that it almost makes the stamp you are trying to clean even more dirty than it was. That is the moment to clean your Scrub.

As I run classes I am now in the habit of cleaning my Stampin’ Scrub the morning after the last class of each month, that way I know that they will always do their job well. I have picked up a few tips along the way of how to do this quickly and easily, so I thought I would share these with you.

Did you know that you can take the furry mats out of the casing very easily, and get them back just as easily? It makes cleaning so much easier and quicker. I wash the mats in the morning, let them drain in the plate rack for a couple of hours so they are only damp, and then pop them in the airing cupboard overnight so they are properly dry in the morning. It is my routine now, so no bother at all.

I hope you find this helpful. I cannot recommend the Stampin’ Scrub and Mist enough, they really do make keeping your stamps in top condition so easy.

Oh Liz, I obviously need to wash my pads more often!!! The water in my sink is opaque when I'm done!!! But thanks for the great tip – I was washing mine in the plastic holder.

Hi Carol, mine used to get like that, until I got into my routine. I also started by washing them in the holder, which meant they took so much longer to dry, and it runs the risk of mould building up behind the pads. Glad to have been of assistance. Lx

For those of us that aren't in the UK what is an airing cupboard?

Hi Suzan. I never thought of an airing cupboard as being a UK thing! So, this is usually the cupboard where the hot water tank is, so it is generally a warm place. We would use it for 'airing' bedding and towels etc. To make sure they are properly dry before putting them away. So basically 'airing cupboard' = a warm, but not hot, place. Hope this helps. Lx

Thanks for the tips. I did not know that the pads came out. This will definitely help to dry them faster. And, thanks for the explanation of the airing cupboard. I was wondering what that was as well. 🙂

Hi Mel. I'm glad you found this helpful. I honestly hadn't realised that 'airing cupboard' would be such a mystery, it must be a British thing. Lx
