As yesterday was a Bank Holiday in the UK, I did not get a chance to look at the challenge from the Global Design Project, which is issued on Mondays. So, this morning I took a look and spotted that it was a fairly loose theme of Sparkle and Bling. In a way the lack of specifics was harder to get started with, but I then decided to just go with what I have been working on anyway.
My Class ladies had asked for a class using texture stamps so they could have a look at what was possible, so over the past few days I have been putting lots of samples together for them to use as inspiration. I particularly wanted them to look at the Touches of Texture set, which has so many possibilities, so it was this set that I grabbed for the GDP challenge.
I decided to use a slightly different colour scheme that was not an obvious one to use with Sparkle and Bling, so used Island Indigo, Soft Suede and Always Artichoke. I added some silver foil and some vellum coloured on the back with Island Indigo, with both Clear and Gold Wink of Stellar on the front (be warned that this will encourage the vellum to curl up, so gentle heat and persuasion to flatten out again is recommended!).
So that was some Sparkle and Bling, but I always reckon that Sparkle and Bling is the one time when ‘More is More’, so added some rhinestones down the dragonfly’s back, some Silver Dazzling Details to the centre of the flower and then some Dazzling Diamonds to the edge of the Island Indigo Card Mat. The final addition was some sunshine for the photos!

Such a pretty card Liz. Love the sparkly body on the dragonfly, goes perfectly with his silver foil wings. It looks like it was a lovely day for photos! Thanks for playing along with this week's Global Design Project challenge.
Thank you! I do love these challenges. Lx
