More Easter Treats – This time with Chocolate!

You may remember that Chocolate and I have a love/hate relationship, but I do understand that for some people the thought of Easter without Chocolate is just not something to contemplate, even if that does mean Marmite Chocolate – seriously, there are Marmite Chocolate Easter eggs this year, two things I seriously do not get on with. But I can get my head around a few mini eggs in a cute little box, particularly when the box has already been made for you and all you need to do is decorate it. We all need a few tricks like this up our sleeve don’t we.

Stampin’ Up! make the cutest little treat boxes (Clear Tiny Treat Boxes #141699) and these hold a surprising amount; in my sample I managed to get 11 mini eggs in. My mini eggs came from Aldi, but the ones from Waitrose are the same size, so just chose your shop and take it from there!!

The coloured card I used was the fabulous, and often overlooked, Irresistibly Floral Speciality Designer Series Paper from the Annual Catalogue (#141644). I had passed it by until I was at a Team Event last month and we got to use this, now I just wish I had registered it before. It really is fabulous, but in the catalogue it looks like plain white paper. And it is, but with glossy embossing already on it. All you need to do is colour it any colour you want, however you want (well maybe not with a VERY wet Aqua Painter). In this example all I used was one strip 1-3/4″ (4.5 cm) wide and the full 12 ” length, coloured it in Sweet Sugarplum ink with the Sponge Brayer, to match the foil of the eggs, then wrap it around the box stick it together with some Fast Fuse, job done. Quick bit of stamping and layering, and finished.

Did you notice that I have used the Bermuda Bay Glimmer Paper from the Sale-a-Bration FREE items? You only have until the end of March to get your hands on it, assuming it lasts that long. You get 12 6 x 6″ sheets (so perfect for the BigShot), four each in Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum – dare I say that I am already in mourning for these, I love them so much.

Don’t delay, hope over to my online store NOW and place your order.
