If you have seen the new Spring/Summer Catalogue you will also have seen the beautiful ‘Falling in Love’ Suite on pages 50-52; it is gorgeous and perfect for all your wedding projects, be that recording the day in a scrapbook, or creating the most amazing wedding stationary.
I have had a look at the cost of wedding stationary and did you know that, according to weddingsday.co.uk, the average spend on just this element of your wedding is a staggering £465. Brides Magazine has a slightly less eye-watering figure of £271, but even so.
With this in mind, I wondered how much would it cost to make your own invitations. Well that clearly depends on how elaborate you wanted them to be and how many you need, but let’s have a look at what the cost would be for 100.
2 packs of Thick Whisper White A4 Card Stock – this will give you 100 A6 cards, 50 from each pack of 25 sheets – £13.00
3 packs of Whisper White C6 Envelopes – 120 in total – £18.00
1 pack of Sahara Sand A4 Card Stock – this will give you 100 mats – £7.50
2 packs of Smooth Whisper White A4 Card Stock – this will give you 320 mats, more than sufficient for inside as well as outside, and it is worth noting that this will go through most home printers, so you could print the inside of the cards with all the information your guests need – £17.00
So In Love Stamp Set on Wood (saves you buying blocks) – £18.00
Sahara Sand or Blushing Bride Ink Pad – £6.00 each
So you could add:
Falling in Love Designer Series Paper – £10.00
Falling in Love 12 x 12 Card Stock Pack – £10.00 (both of these would be for your scrapbook of the day)
3 packs of Lace Doilies – £12 (use half on each card, will give you 144, so enough to use some in your scrapbook)
Both Ink Pads – extra £6.00
Confetti Hearts Border Punch – £20.00
Vellum A4 Card Stock – £6.00 (use the punch with this to make some really pretty wraps for the card fronts)
Pearl Basic Jewels – £4.50
Take out the So In Love Stamp set (you going to get that for FREE!) and your total is £130, the magic number that means you get full value from your starter kit. Add back in the So In Love stamp set, and any other of your choice (but I would suggest the Falling For You Stamp Set).
You could then have an event by getting together with your bridesmaids and girl friends over a bottle (or two) of fizz, these few crafting supplies and some music. What a great way to spend an evening or two. Hey, why not contact me so I can help you put the event together, either in person, or via a Facebook Live event; that really would be fun. I’m getting all excited already!!
If you wanted to continue as a Demo, then you just have to meet a very achievable quarterly target, that works out as less than £2.50 a day (so a coffee and a bar of chocolate, which you know you should be giving up anyway!!)
These were just some of the examples I put together using a variety of supplies, but they may give you are few ideas.
Suggested supplies are listed below, with the item numbers you will need.
